Hello everyone this is Dr. George Solter, Superintendent of the North Bergen School District. As the final bell rings for the 2023 - 2024 school year, students will be moving to the next grade, and we will also celebrate our Pre K, Kindergarten, and Eighth-grade graduations. We would like to especially recognize our High School Seniors who will move on to colleges, universities, trade schools, military service, or employment. We wish each of our graduates the best and hope they take all they have learned at North Bergen to their next adventure.

This year, like every year, has brought challenges, from curriculum adjustments to unexpected issues. We witnessed our students' efforts, and the dedication of our teachers, support staff, and administrators and for this I say thank you to everyone. I am filled with immense satisfaction on a job well done.

As we move forward the halls may be quiet for a while, but the hum of learning and growth will resonate in a new school year. We take this time to pause, to celebrate, to reflect, and to prepare for the symphony of education to begin anew after a well-deserved relaxation period during the summer break.

Now I have some important points of information for you as we move through June.

First, our graduation schedule is posted on the North Bergen School District website. Please be prompt for the ceremonies as we would hate for any parent or guest to miss the celebration. If you have any questions, please call the office staff of your child's school.

Second, last month I detailed our summer school offerings for remedial classes and enrichment programs. If your child needs to attend for remedial purposes the guidance counselor will contact you with the information. Also, if you want your child to attend the many enrichment programs offered, you need to go to our district website to enroll in a program. If you have any questions, please contact your child’s school office.

Third, we are excited about introducing our dual enrollment and career technical education programs. These programs will partner with Hudson County Community College and our students will graduate with some college credits up to a full associate degree. Additionally, we will be developing programs for career readiness where our students will gain valuable experience on top of the academic information. These programs will award certificates to enable graduates to immediately pursue career opportunities upon graduation. These programs include Accounting, Graphic Design, Culinary Arts, Television Journalism, Construction Management, and Automotive Technology to name a few. There will be meetings for parents and students to give more information on the programs so please keep aware when messages are sent out. If you have any questions, please contact the North Bergen High School Guidance Department.

Fourth, as we complete the 2023 - 2024 school year, again I would like to thank all of the staff members for their hard work and dedication to the youth of North Bergen. Also, congratulations to our graduates as they move on to do great things!
