Hello my name is Dr. George Solter,
superintendent of the North Bergen School
District.
I wanted to give everyone an update on the
situation regarding school closures due to
COVID 19.
● Schools will remain closed until April
20th, therefore students must complete the
packets or remote learning assignments
given to them prior to leaving school by
next sunday March 29th.
Starting Monday March 30th students will
be moving to virtual lessons in grades 1-
12. Our Virtual School Day plan will be
posted next week.
Students in grades K-2 will find their
information on their teachers webpage.
Grades 3-12 will be on google classroom
& lessons, information, & assignments
will be posted there. Students should be
keeping a reading log & writing journal
online or on paper.
Our expectations are that students will
login at 9 am and will be working
remotely on their assignments until 1:10
pm. Between 2 and 3pm teachers will be
available virtually, online and via email
for conferences with students when
needed. Teachers will also be preparing
their lessons during this time.
All assignments are to be submitted to the
teacher in a timely manner. If the student
has extenuating circumstances and can’t
complete the assignment by the due date,
please email the teacher for an extended
deadline.
Our guidance counselors & child study
team members will be available for
students to contact them with questions &
concerns or emotional support. We will
be posting social & emotional learning
videos on our school & district websites.
We are also posting exercise & yoga
videos so students can remain active.
Our teachers will be working on creating
videos whether live or pre-recorded so the
students can have a sense of normalcy.
This is an unprecedented time . We have
never dealt with anything like this before.
Our focus is to keep a sense of normalcy
and structure for students and staff during
this time of uncertainty.
We are also asking everyone to please
practice safe habits, wash your hands,
keep social distancing, & stay away from
anyone exhibiting symptoms.

If you are feeling sick, make sure to
follow the guidelines posted on our
websites that are from the CDC & the
dept. of health.

Please visit our school website on a daily
basis for information, read our emails &
text messages, & listen to our automated
announcements for further information.

If you need to update your contact
information please go to the Parent Portal
on our school website or email the school
counselor.
