Delayed Opening - Staff Information

In the event that a Delayed Opening is needed the following actions will apply for the North Bergen School District:

  • A Notification will be made to alert staff via phone call, text (SMS) and/or email message.  
  • Please make sure your contact information for Notification(s) is correct in Realtime in order for you to receive the message.
  • A message will be on TV channels 2 WCBS, Fox -5, NBC-4 and 7 WABC.
  • An announcement will be placed on the North Bergen Website. 




  • All staff will arrive by 10:00 AM and be dismissed at 3:07 PM.
  • Students will start homeroom at 10:30 A.M. 
  • The Pre-Kindergarten morning AM session will be canceled.
  • The Pre-Kindergarten PM session will start at the regular time. 
  • Kindergarten students will arrive at the home school by 10:30 AM.



  • All staff members will arrive by 10:00 AM and be dismissed at 3:07 PM.
  • The High School staff will be on one shift.
  • Students with a first period will start classes at 10:30 AM.
  • Students who start after first period will start with homeroom at 11:12 AM
  • There will be no periods 2, 3 and 9
