Hello everyone, this is Dr. George Solter Superintendent of the North Bergen School District. As the summer quickly closes I would like to say welcome back to all students, parents, and staff members. I hope everyone had time to relax and rejuvenate during the time off. I am very excited to tell you about some important things going on as we start the 23 - 24 school year.

First, the staff will be in on Tuesday, September 5th, and Wednesday, September 6th for professional development. This is a time that we prepare the staff for the upcoming school year. Each of our staff members is excited to work with your children as the year progresses.

Second, we will welcome all our students back on Thursday, September 7th. We ask that everyone be patient for the first few days as we return back to school. Traffic lines can get long and we want to make sure everyone arrives safely. All contact phone numbers need to be up to date so we can call you if there are any issues. Additionally, if your child takes the bus, please ensure the children are ready at the appropriate time and at the correct place to be picked up. Also please make sure someone is there to pick up the child at the end of the day. We want to make sure each child comes to school and arrives home safely.

Third, we need everyone to complete the lunch application forms before the end of September. The application is on our website or you can contact your child’s school to complete a hardcopy. Having this form is very important for our food service and school funding. If you need any help please contact your school office.

Fourth, we have expectations for our students as we move through the school year. These include the dress code, attendance, being on time, proper behavior, and working hard. The expectations will be communicated during the start of the school year and reinforced over time. Please make sure we work as a team by assisting us with these expectations of conduct, academics, and behavior.

As always I thank you for your trust in the North Bergen School District and we look forward to working with your children.
