Hello everyone, this is Doctor George Solter, Superintendent of the North Bergen School District.   I hope everyone is staying safe and healthy at this time.  I have some important information concerning the return to in-person education for our students.

First, our teachers and staff will be present in school for virtual instruction on Monday, January 10th and Tuesday, January 11th.  All students will receive virtual instruction through Google Meet and Google Classroom on these days.

Second, we will be returning to in-person education on Wednesday, January 12th.  I have heard concerns about the return to in-person education from some of you.  We will have a Parent Choice option if you would like to have your child remain on remote instruction.  Any student on the Parent Choice option will receive assigned work from their teacher which must be completed and submitted through Google Classroom.  We have posted a survey question on our Realtime Parent Portal so you may choose the method of instruction you would like for your child.  We will send an auto call, text, and email with more information.  You must choose your option by Tuesday, January 11th, at 1:00 PM.  This parent choice will be in effect until February 1st, at which time the plan will be reevaluated.

Third, for in-person education, we will have enhanced safety practices at all North Bergen Board of Education locations.  This includes wearing appropriate masks correctly, enhancing testing of staff and students, monitoring the health screening form on Realtime, and continuing to have vaccine clinics so we can help more students, community members and staff get protected.
