Hello, everyone I am Dr. George Solter, Superintendent of the North Bergen School District.

First of all, I hope all of you are safe after the storm we had last night.

I would like to welcome everyone back for the 2021 – 2022 school year. I hope each of you had a restful, enjoyable, and safe summer recess.

I just want to take some time and speak with you about some important items.

We will be welcoming your children back for in-person education this coming Tuesday.  We are all looking forward to this school year.  Please look at your child’s school website and teacher notifications for more information.

Many policies, regulations, and advisements for our opening of school are in the Road Forward.  We posted our information related to this policy on our website.  The document was sent out for public comment and for your review.  Also, Governor Murphy issued Executive Orders outlining the requirements for wearing masks and vaccines.  Please make sure you read the documents on our website and if you have any questions please give me an email.

We needed to implement many technology platforms during the move to virtual instruction.  Google classroom will continue to be our mode of providing information to our students and receiving work from the students.  We became a one to one district and every student must have a school issued Chromebook.  If there are any issues with Chromebooks or internet connections please contact the main office at your child’s school.  Additionally, you need to use the Realtime parent portal to get all information that concerns your child.

Because of the storm, we will need to reschedule Professional development for staff. There will be no school for students on Friday, September 10th.

In conclusion, we are here to support all of your child’s needs and make sure they are successful.  Have a wonderful school year.
