Hello everyone this is Doctor George Solter Superintendent of the North Bergen School District.

March is Women’s History Month and we will be celebrating it by reading stories, researching accomplishments, creating presentations, and having discussions.  Mr. Brady, the Supervisor of Social Studies, distributed many suggestions to celebrate Women’s History Month that will be incorporated into the curriculum. We will celebrate the lives and accomplishments of Susan B. Anthony, Harriet Tubman, Amelia Earhart, Eleanor Roosevelt, Jane Goodall, Sally Ride, Maya Angelou, Rosa Parks, Helen Keller, and Ruth Bader Ginsberg to name a few. Please look at the work we are doing during this month with your child.

Last month, I spoke about an outline for our return to in-person education. I would like to give you more information about our timeline. Our administrators, supervisors, directors, and support staff have returned to full time workdays on Monday, March 1st. We will be welcoming teachers and staff to teach from the classroom starting Monday, March 15th. At this time, we are planning for students to return on April 19th with details to be determined on the schedule for the hours and days in the near future. At this time, we are asking for you to log into the Realtime parent portal and complete the survey for your child to remain on virtual learning. A "Yes" response means you want your child to remain home and learn virtually. A "No" response means you want your child to have in-person education at the school. These responses will help us create the schedule for our students. We are asking that you complete the survey by Sunday, March 7th.

Lastly, I would like to thank all of the staff for their efforts during this trying time. Many hours have been spent in professional development, working in a way we never thought we would have to do, distributing materials and lunches, and communicating in a process that we never imagined before. Once again thank you to all.
