welcome back parents North Bergen High School my name is Gabriel Pena and I'll be your child US History to u.s. History 2 honors or Renaissance and Reformation teacher in grade 11 and 12 the background information about me New Jersey go Mustangs graduated from North Bergen High School in 2002 and graduated from Rutgers and NJIT joint education program with a major in history in 2006 if your child is enrolled in US history 2 or US History II honors it is a graduation requirement and this course students learn about the growth of the United States from the late 1800 until modern-day America and the class of students will read the text analyze political cartoons write persuasive essay stupid projects and present those projects in the virtual environment this will happen in what are called a breakout groups were students are able to go to separate groups work together and then come back to the main course and show what they've done to the class Sims 4 also use a variety of online tools such as Google Maps at puzzle and kahoots these are all online resources that allow students to enrich their learning process if your child is enrolled in Renaissance and Reformation course an elective and it lasts for two marking periods they'll either have me for the first and second marking. 4 for the third and fourth students will learn about the history art and literature from the Renaissance. Which lasted from 1300 to 1600 in the spirit of the Renaissance end of the well-rounded Renaissance Scholars students will explore ideas from a Hands-On perspective that means they'll read Major Works from the Renaissance such as Machiavelli's the prince in Dante's Inferno and they will learn the basics of drawing painting and even sculpting now this is what's expected from the students in the virtual environment they should participate in the meetings they should attend the meetings on time they should complete assignments in Google classroom and ultimately try to be positive and keep an open mind difficult time if you like to contact me you can send me an email at G Penna at North Bergen.
