Hello, this is Dr. George Solter Superintendent of Schools.  I would like to give you some information about the in-person graduations for the class of 2020 and the opening of school for September.

First, the High School will be graduating at Bruins Stadium on July 8th and 9th with ceremonies at 9:00 AM and 12:00 PM.  We wish all of the graduates health and prosperity in their future endeavors.  I would like to use a quote for Mark Amend “Be strong enough to stand alone, Smart enough to know when you need help, and Brave enough to ask for it”.  Congratulations to all of the graduates.

Second, the Grade Eight graduations will be at Bruins Stadium on July 14th with ceremonies at 9:00 AM for Horace Mann, 11:00 AM for Lincoln/Franklin, 1:00 PM for Robert Fulton, and 3:00 PM for Kennedy/McKinley/Polk Street.  The principals should have contacted you with information about the graduation.

Lastly, we are in preparation for opening school in September.  The planning is ongoing and we are looking for direction from the NJDOE and the Governors office.  We have a committee composed of parents, teachers, administrators, and community organizations such as the police and the health department.  Parents please expect a survey with questions so we can better understand your concerns.  These will help us formulate the plan that must be submitted to the state for approval.  We will then advertise the plan on or before August 1st so you can understand how our opening will work.

I wish all of you health and some ability to enjoy the summer.  We are working hard to make sure we are ready for September.
