Hello this is Dr. George Solter, Superintendent of the North Bergen School District.  We are now about one week away from the end of the school year.
I just wanted to tell you a few things about the end of the year procedures, and opening for next year.
First, your child will be scheduled to come in next week to pick up his or her belongings. With that we will be creating a schedule for return of textbooks and chromebooks.  The principal and vice-principal will develop these schedules.  You will be receiving a message for when your appointment is to come to the school.
Second, we will be having outdoor graduations for the class of 2020.  North Bergen High School on July 8th and July 9th.  The Grade 8 graduations will be on July 13th.  All graduations will be at Bruins Stadium.  Procedures for these graduations will be defined by Tuesday of next week.  I will get the information concerning the graduation ceremonies out to you through the website, emails, texts, and messages from the teachers. 
Third, opening for next school year is undetermined at this time.  We will be getting more direction from the NJDOE.  We will be setting up committees that will include administrators and teachers.  We will get the information out to you as we get guidelines from the State of New Jersey.
As we have seen that everything is subject to change.  So I will inform you if any changes happen through our various forms of communication.
This pandemic has changed and accelerated our use of technology and we will look to use this knowledge and incorporate these tools for the future.
Finally, please stay safe and protect yourself during the summer months by following sound protocols for distancing and wearing protective devices.  I will keep all of you aware of any updates during the summer.  Enjoy and recharge during the vacation and I will look forward to seeing all of you in September.
