Hello everyone, this is Dr. George Solter Superintendent of Schools for the North Bergen School District.  I wanted to inform you of some updates that have come from the New Jersey Department of Education and happenings going on in our schools.

Governor Murphy has canceled all in-person classes for the rest of the year.  All learning will be through virtual instruction.  The teachers have been working very hard to keep a sense of normalcy during this unprecedented time.  Please keep in contact with your child’s teacher if you have any concerns or questions.

I want to thank all of our parents for your cooperation as we shifted how learning is done.  Now more than ever it is evident that my mission statement of: together you the parent, the teachers, and the administrators are here to make sure each child is successful.

We are now registering for the Pre –K and Kindergarten for the 2020 -2021 school year.  You can complete the registration online at our district website which is www.northbergen.k12.nj.us
Finally, I have been getting questions about Graduations and end of year celebrations. The New Jersey Department of Education issued a directive that all graduations, including ours, must be done virtually.  While I know this is a disappointment to our graduates and their families, we must follow the directive from the state. However, we will look to do some kind of an in-person celebration at some point in the future once we have more direction.

And please remember we celebrated teacher and nurses’ appreciation week so please remember them.
