Curriculum - High School (9th - 12th Grade)

The North Bergen School Districts English Language Arts course of study is aligned to the New Jersey Student Learning Standards to ensure that the standards described are what students should know and be able to do upon completion of a thirteen-year public school education. ELA curriculum is designed in collaboration with lead teachers, content area supervisors, and district administration.

The ELA curriculum is evaluated and updated periodically to ensure that all students are exposed to high academic standards and are gaining the skills necessary to thrive in the 21st century.  To prepare students for college and careers while developing students' proficiency, embedded in the curricula are critical thinking and problem solving skills, conducting research, utilization of technology, collaborative projects, engaging in cultural literacy, demonstrating leadership, and introduction to wellness concepts.
