Uniform Guidelines - Junior High School

The North Bergen Board of Education believes that school uniforms play an important role in school safety, improving school culture, fostering a positive learning environment, and improving student outcomes.

The success of a mandatory school uniform policy relies on our parents’ support and involvement. Together – parents, administrators and staff can create a difference by providing a supportive and nurturing educational environment for all students to reach their maximum potential.

Boys and Girls Grades 7 - 8

North Bergen Schools must be an environment in which work can be accomplished by adults and students. Students’ dress will fall within the following guidelines in order to create an orderly setting, in which teaching and learning can occur with as few visual distractions as possible.

The school administrator will make the final decision about whether an article of clothing or style of dress falls outside of these guidelines.

  • Shirts should be worn as purchased - no intentional holes, tears or shreds.

PANTS:
  • Appropriate pants are solid khaki or black cotton twill.
