Grading Policy

The following grading policy is in effect for the North Bergen Public Elementary Schools:
 
GRADING:
 
Academic subjects in grades PreK through 4 will be Standard Based grades.
 
Academic subjects in grades 5 through 8 will be graded numerically. Grades will be computed on the following basis: 1/3 homework, 1/3 classwork, and 1/3 tests, except for academic subject areas appropriate to point 1.
  1. In academic subject areas where district wide marking period exams are in effect, grades will be computed on the following basis: 1/4 homework, 1/4 classwork, 1/4 tests and 1/4 district marking period exam.
  2. A numerical grade will be used for all special subjects in grades 1 through 8.
  3. A grade of 65 and above will be considered a passing grade in each subject.
