Hello everyone this is Dr. George Solter, Superintendent of the North Bergen School District. I hope that each of you are resting, relaxing, and renewing during this summer recess. I would like to discuss some important items as we move to open school for students on September 8th.

First, please look on our website where packets are available to be done during the summer to prepare for school opening. Additionally, please either read with your child or introduce books for your child to read to keep their minds active.

Second, as we get closer to the start of school the parent portal will be open for you to see your child's teacher or teachers. Each of our staff member's have a webpage introducing themselves, specific contact information, and supplies that are needed. If you are having any problems please call your child's school.

Third, we will have new student registration Monday to Thursday during the summer at North Bergen High School from 9:00 AM to 2:00 PM. Also, there will be evening registration on Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday at North Bergen High School from 4:30 PM to 8:00 PM. To speed up the registration process we ask you to go on the North Bergen District Website to make sure you pre-register and have the proper documents.

Fourth, we will be having our annual Freshman orientation on August 30th in the High School Auditorium at 7:00 PM. Please come to meet the High School administration and to get information concerning procedures, policies, and rules. Additionally, it is important for you to know how to communicate with the principals, guidance counselors, and teachers. We want each incoming Freshman student to start strong and be successful.

Fifth, lunch will be distributed until the start of school in September at NBHS, Kennedy School, and Lincoln School. Lunches will be given out between 12:00 PM to 2:00 PM on Mondays and Thursdays. Also, we ask each parent to complete the new lunch forms located on the district website for the 2022 -2023 school year. It is important for each parent to complete the form before October 15th.

Lastly, I would like to thank the staff and students for a successful summer remediation and enrichment program. I look forward to seeing the Staff on Tuesday, September 6th, and all of the students on Thursday, September 8th. I will have another message posted as we get closer to the opening.
