Hello, everyone this is Dr. George Solter, Superintendent of the North Bergen School District.  I would like to tell you some important information as we prepare for the return to full in-person education this fall.

First, there is a mask mandate for all staff and students inside the school buildings.  When there is a heat advisory we are given the right to have student and staff remove masks.  Additionally, we will provide recess time outside of the building where students and staff can take a mask break.

Second, we will be posting our return plan for your review on Monday, August 23rd.  The plan will outline our procedures for cleaning, safety, sanitizing, communication, and protocols.

Third, all schools will be deep cleaned at night.  Also, during the day all common areas will be cleaned including bathrooms, hallways, door knobs, and hand rails.  Every room will have hand sanitizer.

Fourth, every student must complete the Realtime health screener before they come to school.

Fifth, we have actively been scheduling opportunities to students and parents to receive vaccines.  Anyone who is eligible can get a vaccine through the North Bergen Department of Health and the Hudson County Department of Health.

Lastly, I hope you are enjoying the last few weeks of summer.  As we get more guidance from Governor Murphy’s office, the new jersey Department of Health, and the New Jersey Department of Education, I will post another video next week with more information as we move closer to the new school year.
