Welcome back to the 2020 -2021 school year, a year like no other so far.  We are going through a totally different process for education.  Last March, we left thinking we would be out for two weeks.  Then two weeks turned into a month, which turned into two months, which turned into the rest of the year.  During that time it felt as if we were building a plane as we were flying it.  We finished the year with compassion and understanding due to the nature of the situation.

I want to thank all of the teachers and administrators who helped during the many graduation ceremonies.  We were able to celebrate the seniors and send them off to their next chapter and the eighth graders moving to the high school.
We are now starting in a new way of providing an education to our students.  Early in the summer Governor Murphy directed each district to have in-person education in some form.  Recently, he directed that districts were allowed to open in the virtual environment.  However, we must have a process in place to work towards in-person education at a defined date.

Our virtual learning plan is on the website which will explain how we will provide instruction.  Please review the plan and if you have any questions please speak with your child’s teacher, principal or email me at gsolter@northbergen.k12.nj.us.  
And as what I have been saying for many months is that everything is subject to change.
We will be teaching our classes live streamed to the students on Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, and Friday.  Wednesdays, our students will be doing work assigned by the teachers and working in small group settings.

To this I say welcome back again and as I always say we are in this together you the parents, the teachers, the administrators to make sure each child is successful.  Thank you.
